Gifts and rice for the poor
Daily necessities and cash gifts placed directly in the hands of the elderly, people with disabilities, and struggling families.
This is the heart of every trip to Vietnam. At each stop, usually a temple, families in need from the area are invited to receive their gifts. The local temple helps compile the list of those in the greatest hardship.
A typical gift includes rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, soy sauce, seasoning, conical hats, sandals, towels, blankets, milk cakes, toothpaste, soap, and medicated oil, along with cash gifts from our team members. At Phước Huệ Temple in Đà Nẵng (March 2026), for example, the team handed out 200 such gift packages.
Between trips, in some places, the abbots give out monthly rice to local families on the foundation's behalf.
