Elderly neighbors walk slowly to the pagoda on a cane. We are grateful to place a small gift in their hands.
Every spring our team from Garden Grove travels back to Vietnam and visits village pagodas. In March 2026, at Phước Huệ Pagoda in Đà Nẵng, we were fortunate to offer 200 gift packages of rice, noodles, cooking oil, blankets and towels, along with cash gifts, to families nearby.

What is in a gift package
Every package holds things families use every day. Team members hand them over in person, together with the monastics and local Buddhists.

Vietnam Charity Trip 2026
In March 2026 the team traveled from Sóc Trăng and Bạc Liêu through Vũng Tàu, Bình Thuận, Đắk Lắk, Phú Yên and Quảng Nam to Đà Nẵng, and rested in Huế. Each stop was a temple where families of the area gathered.

Our mission
Compassionate Hands Foundation hopes to walk alongside people living in hardship across Vietnam, so that more families may have a roof over their heads, a chance to go to school, and a more peaceful life.
The foundation is led by Venerable Thích Minh Nhựt, together with Buddhists and kind-hearted Vietnamese friends abroad. Every trip is recorded in photos and video, so everyone can share in the joy.
The simplest things a family needs
We hope to add a small helping hand to what carries a family through each day: a meal, a roof, a child's schooling, and care for the elderly and people with disabilities.
